Great list! I especially agree about the problematic fave. I think Chinatown is one of the greatest movies ever made, while still believing that Polanksi belongs in jail.
I'm embarrassed to say that I've never seen Do the Right Thing. It's on Criterion Channel, I should get on that.
Well, I might *differ* with a few of your comments about the greatness of particular movies, but turning that into an argument is futile. 𝐷𝑒 𝑔𝑢𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑏𝑢𝑠 𝑛𝑜𝑛 𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝑑𝑖𝑠𝑝𝑢𝑡𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑢𝑚.
Enjoyed this list except number 30, which so far as I can tell is entire contradictory to number 21. "I don't like their face" *is* in fact a perfectly valid reason to hate a performer, just as any other stated reason is!
I believe "Hannah and Her Sisters" is the best movie in my lifetime and therefore the "problematic fave" statement above is 100% accurate. Also 16! 16! 16! absolutely.
Thank you for this list. The only point I even a little bit disagree with is the last five minutes of ATPM. I never felt the teletype worked, and it just seemed like an artifact of Bernstein’s contributions being (rightly) excluded from the screenplay.
Wow 49 for 50! That’s a hell of a batting average, and I rarely agree so completely with someone’s take. FYI - Alien is the best movie made in my lifetime. No wait, Blade Runner. Damn I love Ridley Scott.
Interesting list, and a few things to chew on.
Credit to Craig Calcaterra for pointing me here. It’s my own brain’s fault that leads me to ask, what happened to number 48?
Thank you for reading! I realized I had combined two into #47 and I never added the 48th, so I've edited to uncombine them.

Craig "Cup of Coffee" Calcaterra sent me here!
I cannot argue with a single one of your points.

This was great, just great.
